What is Coworking? Why should a company choose a Coworking solution? And what different setups does a typical coworking space offer? Here is a short summary to answer these questions.
What is Coworking?
Coworking is an arrangement in which people, both individuals and corporate teams from different companies share an office space. You also have shared facilities, services and tools. Your typical coworking space offers amenities such as high speed internet, meeting rooms, 24/7 access, free coffee, fully equipped kitchen, printer and scanners etc.
Why Coworking?
For companies It’s an effective way to cut down on unused office space and offer a more flexible and modern way of working to your employees. For the employees it can offer a way to work closer to home, among a lot of other benefits.
For a company, maybe the main reason and upside of choosing a coworking solution for their employees, is that it’s cost-efficient and they don’t have to sign up for a long-term real estate lease. If the number of employees are increasing or shrinking, a company can easily adjust their coworking plan to the number of employees and only pay for the space needed, which makes it more flexible than your traditional office.
In a world where employees work from home to a much greater extent than just a few years ago, a lot of face-to-face interactions has gone lost. But when workers have gotten used to the convenience of working from home, it is hard for companies to motivate their employees to get back to office 5 days a week.
A coworking space gives colleagues a sense of community that they are missing when working from home and they can choose a space closer to their home which makes the threshold of leaving home lower.
What different setups can you buy at a Coworking space?
